10th Puzzle Parley — Registration is Open!
Salem, Mass. — 13-15 August 2010
Here's the Registration Form
A Puzzle Parley, endorsed by the AGPC and devoted entirely to jigsaw puzzles, will be held at the Hawthorne Hotel, Salem, MA the weekend of13-15 August 2010. This will be the tenth jigsaw puzzle parley since 1994 that Bob Armstrong and others have helped organize. The meeting will be an opportunity to bring together people interested in making, collecting, displaying, discussing, buying, selling and assembling puzzles. Anyone interested in jigsaw puzzles (whether members of the AGPC* or not) is invited to attend and participate.
Puzzle Parleys are the only meetings held in the United States devoted entirely to jigsaw puzzles. They are intended to bring cutters, collectors and enthusiasts together to discuss and share their ideas and concerns; display, buy and sell their puzzles (both old and new); and meet and make friends with people who share the same passion for jigsaw puzzles.
While Saturday, 14 August will be the focus of the meeting, we have scheduled events on Friday and Sunday as well.
Salem, MA is a fascinating "destination location" and the Hawthorne Hotel, while modernized, still retains all the ambiance and charm of a hotel from the 1920/1930 period when interest in jigsaw puzzles peaked.
For attendees who plan to stay an extra day (group rate applies at Hotel), we also recommend Salem for its history as a seaport and whaling town, its witch craze and Witch Museum, the very fine Peabody-Essex Museum, and Hawthorne's "House of Seven Gables".
Download the Registration Form, fill it out, and send it to the address included on the form. Copies will also be posted at www.oldpuzzles.com and www.jardinpuzzles.com.
